An abridged version for the younger performer is available. We offer the reversible band jackets in a wide range of sizes for both the regular and Junior versions of the show. In the stage play, Harold Hill's band hat does not pop out of his straw hat as in the film where trickery can be employed. The band hat is concealed in the phone booth where he enters to reverse his jacket; he sets down one hat and picks up the other. We offer the whole show, including the Grecian urns, and lots and lots of ill-fitting band uniforms.
Plot Synopsis
story follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall. (MTI)
